WeareData is an excellent, and rather disturbing, website showing the data available in three cities (London, Paris, and Berlin).
“Watch_Dogs WeareData is the first website to gather publicly available data about Paris, London and Berlin, in one location. Each of the three towns is recreated on a 3D map, allowing the user to discover the data that organizes and runs modern cities today, in real time. It also displays information about the inhabitants of these cities, via their social media activity.” (WeareData)
It’s incredible the amount of data that we put out into the world, sometimes unknowingly. Seeing all the active mobiles, along with the excess of social media, and how everything is hyperconnected, is fascinating. I like to follow the tubes along their route in real time. It’s oddly mesmerising.
What do you think of the site? Do you use those open social sites actively? Seeing the data available here, will you change your habits at all? Onwards!
