Love it or hate it, weather in the UK is never predictable. But is the British weather unique in the world? (BBC) The answer may very well be yes. It’s all down to where the UK is situated: between the Atlantic Ocean and the large land mass of continental Europe. Due to this location, Britain is under an area where five main air masses meet, as shown to the left. As well as this, we’re also under the effects of the jet steam.
The result of all this is a concoction of atmospheric conditions battling it out… giving us our unique weather. It’s all rather fascinating. Onwards!
