The World’s End Revisited

The World's EndI saw The World’s End at the opening midnight showing of it a while back (preceded by the most excellent Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, as part of a trilogy screening), and loved it. Rather different to the first two, it has a lot more depth to it, and is actually a very complex film.

So complex, in fact, that I urge you to read Film Crit Hulk‘s review of it. It’s a long essay, often hard to read in all caps, but well worth the effort. He goes into a lot of detail about alcoholism, addiction, themes, acting, and the little minutiae in the film that tie everything together. I’ve only seen The World’s End once, but as soon as it comes out on DVD, I’ll be getting it and watching it many times to understand everything about it.

Have you seen it? What did you think of it? Do you agree with Film Crit Hulk’s review? Onwards!
