Microscopic Images Of Food & Other Items

Ground Black Pepper microMicroscopic images are cool. Really, really cool. Especially ones of everyday items and food. BuzzFeed have a list of 23 such images, taken from ZEISS Microscopy‘s Flickr page, of just such items.

I really like seeing microscopic images of food, and the ones shown here are no exception. I love the sharp detail in ground black pepper, and the symmetry in sugar and salt. The sticky bit of a Post-It note looks like an alien world, all smooth and slime-covered, whereas the surface of an old copper penny is harsh, jagged, and angular.

BuzzFeed thinks the images look bizarre; I think they look beautiful. Onwards!
