The new trailer for Star Wars episode VII: The Force Awakens was released last week, and it is goooood. It reminds me a lot of the original films (IV – VI), rather than the prequel films (I – III), which makes me happy. I’m not too keen on the new lightsaber (seems even more impractical than having a burning laser inches away from your body already is), but the rest of the trailer gave me chills. Tatooine, stormtroopers, hoverbikes, ball droid, X-Wing fighters, the Millennium Falcon, and not a trade negotiation in sight. Plus let’s not forget the music. So iconic, so memorable, so epic.
Amusingly, someone made a George Lucas’ Special Edition version of the trailer (shown after the break), which superbly shows the difference between the original and remastered films. Cram everything into every shot! There’s also a fantastic LEGO version of the trailer (after the break as well), which does a brilliant job of faithfully recreating the trailer in LEGO.
There has been an awakening. Onwards!
