To Scale: The Solar System

On a dry lake bed in Nevada, a group of friends build the first scale model of the solar system with complete planetary orbits: a true illustration of our place in the universe.” (YouTube)

A fantastic video showing the solar system, to scale. About 7 miles of empty space is needed to adequately put the solar system to scale, assuming the Earth is the size of a marble. I love videos about scale, and this one is no exception.

Oh to see our wondrous marble of an Earth from space. Onwards!
