Origami DNA

Deoxyribonucleic acid, more commonly known as DNA, is simply amazing. It provides the genetic basis of life, and is essential for, well, every living thing. It also has an instantly recognisable structure; the double helix. Discovered by James D. Watson and Francis Crick in 1953, DNA remains one of the most fascinating macromolecules of all time. To think that from something so small and simple (it is, after all, made up of only four bases), all life develops.

Now, thanks to yourgenome.org, you can make your very own origami DNA. Both a template and instructions are provided, as well as a very helpful video on how to go about folding your own DNA.

So what are you waiting for? Time to stop reading and start folding. Onwards!
